Fishing around Fernandina Beach gives us plenty of options without spending half the day running offshore.
Depending on the conditions and what you're looking to catch, Capt. Chris can fish the creeks and backwaters or work the flats. Come fall, he'll also work the boat's 5 foot tower for sight fishing.
Every fishing trip is private and limited to three anglers.
Inshore & Backwater Fishing
Fernandina Beach is surrounded by creeks, flats and backwater that make it a great place to spend a few hours fishing without heading far from shore.
Redfish are one of our main targets, along with flounder, black drum, sheepshead, weakfish and southern kingfish.
Capt. Chris runs a shallow-draft Mamba 227VX built for this type of fishing, giving us the ability to work water where a larger boat isn't the right tool for the job.
Whether you're bringing the kids, fishing for the first time or already know your way around a rod and reel, we'll fish the trip according to your group and the conditions that day.

Sight Fishing in the Fall
Come fall, we start sight fishing more, working the boat's 5 foot tower to spot fish before we ever make a cast.

It's a different look at the same water, and a good option if you want to see the fish before you catch them.
Where we fish ultimately comes down to the conditions, the bite and what makes sense for your group that day.
That's one of the advantages of booking a private trip. We're not running a fixed route with a boatload of strangers.

All fishing charters are private and limited to three anglers maximum.
Fish Aboard the Loose Cannon
Our boat is a 2024 Mamba 227VX, measuring 22 feet 7 inches and built with a shallow draft for the inshore fishing we do.
Open casting decks give you room to work, while the Power-Pole shallow-water anchor and wireless trolling motor help Capt. Chris position the boat around flats and structure.
The Loose Cannon is also equipped with GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, tournament-grade livewells and a 5 foot sight fishing tower.
